The Difference your booking makes

One Birth. Two Families Supported.

When you book with Doula Care UK, your payment helps:

  • Fund support for a mum who can’t afford private doula care, and/or
  • Contribute to practical essentials and wider support through Bethel’s charitable programmes.

Where do you cover?

In-person options are focused on Birmingham, Sandwell and the wider West Midlands. Emotional support sessions may be available online beyond this area.

What is a doula?

A doula is a trained support person who offers emotional reassurance, continuity and practical support to you (and your birth partner) during pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period. Doulas focus on how you feel and what you need, and help you feel more confident and supported.

What kind of support do you provide?

Depending on your package, support can include:

  • Emotional support and listening
  • Helping you feel prepared for birth (non-clinically)
  • Helping you process fears, stress, uncertainty, or previous trauma
  • Support for your birth partner
  • Comfort measures (breathing, grounding, positioning suggestions that are non-medical)
  • Advocacy support (helping you communicate and feel heard)
  • Signposting to trusted information and services

What don't you provide?

We do not provide:

  • Medical advice or clinical decision-making
  • Midwifery tasks or clinical assessments
  • Emergency support services
  • Mental health crisis intervention
  • Legal advice (e.g. consent law)

If you have urgent clinical concerns, you should contact your midwife unit, NHS 111, or 999.
